\/>\nMuscle pain is characterized by a stabbing, cramping, pulling, burning or pressing pain that either only occurs in one specific part of the body or spreads.<br \/>\nIt can range from sudden and class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2>Causes of muscle pain<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Muscle pain is usually associated with incorrect strain, overexertion or injury.<br \/>\nMore rarely, it is caused by an infection, a serious illness or the abuse of medication, drugs or alcohol.<br \/>\nA distinction is essentially made between the following types of muscle pain:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_624e0dfc\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><ul>\n<li><strong>Muscle injuries:<\/strong> Not only does classic muscle soreness fall into this category, but also muscle bruises, muscle strains, torn muscle fibers or muscle tears.<br \/>\nThese are often sports injuries that occur when the body is not warmed up properly.<br \/>\nA pulled or bruised muscle is characterized by pain on pressure and movement, whereby tensing and stretching the affected area hurts.<br \/>\nThe cause of muscle strains is overstretching of the muscle.<br \/>\nA muscle fiber or muscle tear, on the other hand, causes stabbing pain and a bruise at the injured area.<br \/>\nIn the case of muscle tears, a typical dent in the tissue can be felt from the outside.     <\/li>\n<li><strong>Muscle cramps:<\/strong> The most common area where muscle cramps become noticeable is the calves.<br \/>\nHowever, other parts of the body can also be affected by these sudden pains that disappear again.<br \/>\nThe most common cause of muscle cramps is magnesium deficiency.<br \/>\nDiseases that affect the liver are less common.   <\/li>\n<li><strong>Muscle tension:<\/strong> This type of muscle pain is usually due to poor posture, lack of exercise, weak muscles or psychological causes.<br \/>\nThe starting point is pulling pain that is limited to the affected area, such as the shoulder, neck or back.<br \/>\nLater, it can spread and radiate.  <\/li>\n<li><strong>Muscle diseases:<\/strong> The most common diseases that can cause muscle pain include hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, Parkinson&#8217;s disease, polio, circulatory disorders, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, slipped discs, lumbago, as well as autoimmune diseases and those caused by a pathogen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Medication, drugs &amp; alcohol:<\/strong> Medication, alcohol and drugs can trigger muscle pain or even attack the muscle tissue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row us_custom_b5390ae1 height_auto\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-6 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3>Treatment &amp; Therapy<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Depending on the cause, various treatments can be effective for muscle pain.<br \/>\nIn the event of acute muscle pain as a result of an injury, it is important to stop the activity in question immediately, rest the affected area, possibly elevate it or apply cooling measures.<br \/>\nA protective bandage is helpful in many cases, and surgery may be necessary for larger muscle tears.<br \/>\nChronic muscle pain can be treated with <a href=\"#\">therapeutic massages<\/a>, physiotherapy, electrotherapy, <a href=\"#\">acupuncture, exercise therapy<\/a> or thermotherapy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div
