Supportive for
Acute or chronic back pain is more or less severe pain in the back area, regardless of its cause.
Known under the diagnoses lumbalgia, lumbago or lumbar spine syndrome (pain in the lumbar spine), dorsalgia or thoracic spine syndrome (pain in the thoracic spine) or cervicalgia, cervical syndrome, CVS (pain in the cervical spine).
Low back pain is one of the most common complaints in Austria.
It is defined as pain in the area of the lower back between the lumbar spine and the sacrum as well as the sacroiliac joints.
Shoulder-arm syndrome, also known as cervicobrachialgia, is pain that originates in the cervical spine and radiates into the arm and/or head.
The mobility of the cervical spine may also be restricted.
Headaches, neck pain and restricted movement are often accompanying symptoms.
Disc prolapse is a disease of the spine in which parts of the intervertebral disc protrude into the spinal canal – the space in which the spinal cord is located.
The fibrocartilage ring of the intervertebral disc is completely or partially torn through.
This is often caused by overloading the intervertebral discs.
Manifest osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease with reduced bone mass and a disruption of the microarchitecture of the bone tissue.
This results in a risk of bone fragility and an increased risk of fractures.
Osteoarthritis is the most common chronic joint disease worldwide.
The disease is characterized by progressive cartilage loss.
Osteoarthritis is best described as a disturbance of the balance between degradation and build-up processes within the joint cartilage.
Those affected suffer from pain that severely impairs their functionality and ability to work.
This refers to diseases that affect soft body structures such as muscles, tendons, the capsule-ligament apparatus, connective tissue or subcutaneous fatty tissue.
This refers to rheumatic diseases that affect soft body structures such as muscles, tendons, the capsule-ligament apparatus, connective tissue or subcutaneous fatty tissue.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder.
This diagnosis is characterized by almost unbearable pain, as it usually affects several areas of the body at once.
Any exertion quickly becomes tiring – everything gradually becomes more and more difficult.
The pain itself is described as “burning” in the muscles, accompanied by an extreme sensation of cold.
Degenerative spinal diseases, also known as wear-related back problems, include several clinical pictures that can occur in isolation or together.
The main diseases include narrowing of the spinal canal (spinal canal stenosis), osteoarthritis of the small vertebral joints = facet syndrome (spondylarthrosis) and wear and tear of the intervertebral discs and vertebral bodies (osteochondrosis).
In contrast to disc prolapse, the fibrous ring of the intervertebral disc bulges in the direction of the spinal canal in disc protrusion.
Protrusion can be described as incomplete prolapse or as a preliminary stage of disc herniation.
